Intro to Stars (Read First)

The following citations listed in this article are from What Is a Star? | Types of Stars - Sky & Telescope - Sky & Telescope.

When you look up into the sky at night, you're met with a bunch of little, twinkling lights floating around in the darkness. What are they, and where do they come from? Well, those little lights are actually called stars. According to previously cited sources, stars are basically "luminous ball[s] of gas... held together by [their] own gravity." These stars are born out of nebulae, but we'll get more into that later.

This blog is dedicated to explaining the life cycle of a star, so please, sit down, grab a cup of water, and get to reading as you venture deep into the life of these surprisingly large balls of gas and dust!

NOTE: The website won't let me arrange the order in which the entries show up, so they're a little backwards. Please read them in this order: "Intro to Stars", "Low-Mass, High-Mass, What's the Difference?", "Protostar", "Main Sequence", "Red Giants and Supergiants", "Planetary Nebulae", "White and Black Dwarves", "Supernovas", "Neutron Stars", and finally, "Black Holes". Thank you!
